Planning an intimate
ceremony but still pondering over where to have it! I may just have a
solution.
I have a private
bush clad area at my home in Titirangi, which I have developed especially
for ceremonies.
It is a woodland area, set amongst beautiful Rimu, Kauri, Pohutukawa and Ponga trees and
is
suitable for an intimate - medium sized ceremony of 20-30 people. The
area is perfect for a small, casual and relaxed ceremony.
The area has a natural stone ceremony area, a
gothic style arch, a ‘kissing bridge’, a signing table under a gazebo and
seating for some guests. It also has power for sound and video equipment.
Some of the advantages of using this venue
over a park, include:
√
Guaranteed privacy
√ A wet weather option at the
same venue (my covered deck)
√
Access to a room for you to prepare for your big entrance
√
Clean bathroom facility available
√ Availability of electricity
√ Seating provided for
6-10 guests
√ A
signing table with chairs
√
Preparation or ‘dressing’ of the area
with flares/candles, banners and tablecloths is included in the cost.
Access to the bush
area does involve approx 20 stairs and a natural leaf strewn path, so I
strongly recommend sensible shoes to you and your guests. There is
partial viewing from the deck area, if any of your guests are unable to negotiate
the stairs.
In Auckland the
weather is often changeable, so I also have a covered deck area amongst
the trees, as a wet weather alternative. The deck also has power and
seating for guests. The deck has fairy lights and a patio heater if it
gets cold. You could even have an evening ceremony if that is your wish.
The use of
candles, tablecloths, citronella flares and my portable PA system is
included in the cost of hiring this area, which is $150 in addition
to my celebrant fee.
Please note that this area is just for ceremony use and is not a
reception/party venue.
I can recommend
some lovely restaurants in the Titirangi area for the reception, or why
not follow your ceremony with a picnic at one of West Auckland’s fine
beaches or parks.
